REVIEW: Tommee Tippee Steamer Blender

I’m a huge fan of Tommee Tippee – we use their bottles, perfect prep machine and steriliser, so I was VERY excited when they sent me a steamer blender to try out – and perfect timing as we’re about a month in to our weaning journey.

Tommee tippee steamer blender
It looks cute, compact and fits into a modern kitchen! The instructions are easy to follow, it’s VERY easy to use.

Baby S loves chomping on cauliflower and broccoli so thought I’d try it out for that… popped them in and the right amount of time for a ‘steam’ (think it was 15 minutes)

I took a few pieces out for him to have as finger food then went to blend the rest to give him a bit of purée, and to mix the rest of the purée into a cheese sauce I was making for our family dinner (hiding veg from toddler W!) It also has a setting where it can go straight from steaming to blending, very easy!

Blending just took about 10 seconds and I got what I needed!

You can pretty much use this for anything… fruit and veg is obvious but it can also do meat and veg! The instructions gives you guidance on how long everything takes.

It also gives you guidance on how long, depending on the texture you want as part of your weaning journey e.g. Totally smooth or with texture/lumps.

Pros

  • Very easy to use so great for parents with no/little confidence in the kitchen
  • As you just use the same container for steaming and blending…. you save on a lot of dishes and washing up…. the biggest pro in my book!
  • Comes with a couple of storage pots and a spatula to get the food out

Cons

  • The only gripe for me is that the maximum quantity is quite small at 200mg. I would have liked to have cooked more of the broccoli and cauliflower as I then store it in the fridge and use it when needed.

With that in mind, I think it’s the perfect product for parents who are following the traditional weaning method of pureeing everything.

For families like ours who are doing a mix of baby-led-weaning, and parents, toddler and baby eating the same meal… it’s a really cute product but probably not big enough to cook what we need for a family meal.

I’m going to keep trying it though as I do love how easy it is and how it saves on washing up…I’ve never steamed meat so intrigued to see how that goes 🙂

Disclosure: I was sent this product for free in exchange for a review – all words and opinions are my own.
